Dollar Tree DIY: Phone Case Update

I just got this phone case and it came with different backings but I wanted something a little different.  I used the wood grain dollar tree contact paper to spruce it up a bit to my liking. Here is the finished product that took me less than 5 minutes to complete.

I know I know, I have been missing in action again and this post is almost two months late but better late then never.  Two of my New Year goals are reading for 45 minutes a day and reading at least 12 books for the year. What Not to Buy!

There are a few things you should just not buy at thrift stores or yard sales in my opinion. I have composed a list of 10 items that are never on my raider to purchase at secondhand stores. Now don't get me wrong, there are always exceptions to some of these items if they are brand new, still in the package, or have still have the tags on. Usually, though, this list of items are the ones I stay clear of because of germs and other reason. I collaborated with my friends and family to come up with this list because I was having brain block trying to think of items I wouldn't get. Well let's get to it! 1. Underwear, socks, and bra's: I would never buy any of these items unless they were brand new in the package. Except for underwear... I am just never buying them in a thrift store or at a yard sale. My under garments will just have to be purchased at a retail store and that's final. You just never know where those things have been or what they have gone through. ...

Up-Cycled Glass Terrarium

Going through my Mother In Law's things as she was decluttering and preparing for a move I found this old rusted glass terrarium. Instead of instantly throwing it away, I had a vision to fix it up and that is exactly what I did. I love how it turned out. I forgot to take pictures of the process since, at the time, I didn't know I would be starting a blog. I will be sure to remember next time. The first step for this project was to remove all the glass panels and clean them Windex. Next, I did my best to sand every inch of the metal to remove as much rust as possible. After the sanding process, which took a good amount of time, I wiped everything down and began the spray painting process. I chose white so that whatever plant I decided to put inside would pop. After many coats, the finished product was complete! I couldn't be more pleased and can't wait to display this in my house once we move.
